Georgian FM summarizes bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani and Turkish counterparts
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili spoke about her bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Azerbaijan, highlighting the importance of ongoing regional cooperation.
Speaking to Georgian journalists in Istanbul, Botchorishvili said that her meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister focused on the strong and developing relations between Georgia and Turkey. She emphasized that Turkey remains a key strategic partner for Georgia and underlined the importance of maintaining regular high-level dialogue on issues on the bilateral agenda.
“Relations between Georgia and Turkey are developing dynamically, and Turkey remains an important partner for Georgia. In this context, it is essential to maintain regular high-level exchanges of views on all issues on the bilateral agenda.
We also held very positive discussions with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister. In recent period, we have observed particularly intensive high-level engagement with Azerbaijan. The visit of the Azerbaijani President to Georgia, as well as the visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Baku, alongside the signing of important agreements, reflects the strong momentum in our relations.
The recent resumption of railway traffic also represents a positive step forward in strengthening connectivity between our countries.
Overall, we reviewed the current state of relations with both countries and discussed key priorities for future cooperation, including coordination in the international arena,” the Minister stated.
