Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Friday signed a condolence book at British Embassy in Georgia over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 96 on 8 September.
In its letter, the FM said, “in this time of sorrow, we join in honouring Her Majesty’s splendid legacy.”
“Her reign, which is a symbol of strong statesmanship, national integrity and unwavering dedication, is a source of inspiration for us and will surely remain in the memory of future generations.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, we offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family, the British people and the Commonwealth,” the letter of condolence reads.
British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton thanked the Georgian officials for their messages of sympathy and support.
