Georgian FM meets UNGA President

Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, on Thursday, held a meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Dennis Francis, on the side-lines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting, according to the Georgian MFA, discussed the current successful collaboration between the UNGA and Georgia.

The parties reviewed the present situation in the occupied regions of Georgia. FM Darchiashvili thanked Francis for supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The duo underlined the importance of the UN’s active involvement in the process of reconciliation and trust rebuilding.

The parties also reviewed the security environment in the region. The FM stressed that Georgia was interested in peace and stability in the region and expressed the nation’s readiness to make efforts in this regard.
