Georgian FM meets Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister

On the sidelines of the UN Conference, Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

According to the Georgian MFA, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation and the dynamics of political dialogue.

“Emphasis was placed on opportunities to strengthen trade and economic ties. The cooperation between the two countries in multilateral formats was noted, as well as the successful connections between the foreign ministries and at the parliamentary level.

Emphasis was placed on the necessity of developing the ‘Middle Corridor’ and the ‘Black Sea-Caspian Sea’ transport-transit project, which contributes to strengthening regional connectivity.

The necessity of regularly holding political consultations between the foreign agencies was emphasized, which represents an important platform for discussing current issues between the two countries and making appropriate decisions.

Georgia’s Foreign Minister invited his Turkmen colleague to Tbilisi. Georgia’s delegation is participating in the ongoing UN conference in Turkmenistan under the leadership of the Prime Minister,” the Ministry added.
