Georgia wins bid to host European Youth Table Tennis Championships in 2029 #1TVSPORT
In a historic first, Tbilisi, Georgia, has been chosen to host the 2029 European Youth Table Tennis Championships following a unanimous decision by the Executive Board of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). The decision was announced during a joint meeting of the Executive Board in Porto, Portugal. The Minister of Sports, Shalva Gogoladze, was in attendance as the hosting rights were officially awarded to Georgia.
Shalva Gogoladze expressed his gratitude to the ETTU President, Pedro Moura, and the members of the Executive Board for the confidence and trust reposed in Georgia.
During the board meeting, Zurab Berukashvili, Development Manager of the National Table Tennis Federation of Georgia, delivered a comprehensive presentation showcasing the country’s hosting capabilities.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Portuguese Republic, Levan Tsurtsumia, the President of the National Table Tennis Federation of Georgia, Guram Gogoladze and General Secretary Nino Khvichia, also attended the high-level session.
This marks the first time that the European Youth Table Tennis Championships will be held in the Caucasus region. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place in Tbilisi in July 2029.
