Georgia-Turkmenistan trade surpasses USD 100m mark as PM Kobakhidze hails steadfast economic partnership
“Georgia and Turkmenistan are stable and reliable trading partners, with bilateral trade volume increasing by 26% last year to surpass 100 million US dollars,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during his address at the Georgia-Turkmenistan Business Forum.
The Head of Government noted that this positive economic momentum has continued into the current year.
“I am delighted to welcome you to the opening of the second Turkmenistan-Georgia Business Forum. Today’s gathering is yet more proof that the partnership between our two nations is developing successfully, creating more opportunities for our private sectors, investors, and business communities.
First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest respect for the President of Turkmenistan, His Excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedow. Your state visit to Georgia clearly reflects the mutual trust between our countries and the strategic significance of our cooperation.
I would also like to thank the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organising this highly important forum. I am confident that this event will help forge new commercial ties and pave the way for mutually beneficial projects.
Today, Georgia and Turkmenistan stand as stable and reliable trading partners. Last year, trade turnover between our nations grew by 26%, exceeding 100 million dollars, and this positive trajectory has been sustained this year. These figures are clear evidence of our growing economic cooperation.
Yet despite this progress, our current trade and economic relations do not fully reflect the immense potential of Georgia and Turkmenistan. It is therefore vital that we intensify our joint efforts to expand our cooperation, foster new business connections, and fully capitalise on the opportunities our partnership presents,” Kobakhidze stated.
