Georgia reports 4 673 coronavirus cases, 3 893 recoveries, 36 deaths

Georgia reported 4 673 new coronavirus cases, 3 893 recoveries and 36 deaths on Tuesday, announced Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council, at a press briefing at the Government Administration.

According to Sichinava, 16 646 tests were performed during the last 24 hours, among them 11 400 antigen-based, and 5 246 PCR tests.

Georgia’s total case tally now stands at 169 649, among them 141 392 people recovered and 1 576 died.

Georgian capital Tbilisi reported the highest number of 1 729 COVID-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 673 cases, and Adjara – 339 cases.

Currently, there are 1 123 critical patients, 425 among them require mechanical ventilation, the official stated.

There are 1 186 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 6 829 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 51 709 are self-isolating, and 16 067 undergo home treatment.
