The Georgian Dream party is optimistic about the forthcoming negotiations to take place between the ruling party and the opposition with the mediation of Christian Danielsson, a special envoy of EUCO President, said majority MP Shalva Papuashvili.

According to Shalva Papuashvili, the GD will make the proposal, which will be hard to refuse. He said participation of the opposition in the parliamentary work was crucial and the population also urged the opposition to take up their MP seats.

“We are open to the agreement and we want this agreement to be for everyone, and most importantly, for the benefit of our country. I am optimistic that it will be effective. The Georgian Dream will do its best to make an offer during these talks that will be objectively impossible to refuse,” Papuashvili said.

The special envoy of the President of the European Council arrived in Georgia with 3-day visit. The purpose of Danielsson’s visit is to mediate political dialogue between the ruling Georgian Dream party and the opposition initiated by EUCO President Charles Michel on March 1.
