GD Chair: Saakashvili to be prisoner, alluding to his health to be incorrect

“Mikheil Saakashvili is a prisoner, yet he is not put in jail. Statements inciting him to self-harm should be avoided,” Irakli Kobakhidze, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party chair, stated.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, Saakashvili is in full comfort in a private clinic. The video footage, according to the GD Chair, showed the medical personnel’s attitude toward Saakashvili and his attitude toward them in return.

“Any more inferences about Saakashvili’s health are just inappropriate and unethical at this time. This person was causing self-harm by participating in a declared or undeclared hunger strike,” he stated.

This week, five former US ambassadors to Georgia issued an open letter asking the Georgian government to allow President Saakashvili to get life-saving medical care.
