GD Chair: Experts to work on Mikheil Saakashvili’s video

Experts are working to determine the origin of the video released by Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-President of Georgia and Head of the Executive Committee, National Reforms Council of Ukraine, said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

Kobakhidze said Saakashvili’s “masquerade” is linked to the struggle ahead of the elections about securing votes by the United National Movement (UNM) party. “We thought the video was ‘deep fake’ at the beginning. However, it is a simple fake that is not something unusual for Saakashvili,” Kobakhidze said.

GD Chair called on the population for being calm. He asserted that Mikheil Saakashvili is not in Georgia. According to Kobakhidze, Saakashvili is a clown. “I wished he was in Georgia. The whole Georgian society would have seen what a clown Mikheil Saakashvili is, and this would finally end ugliness in Georgian politics. His video is not recorded in Georgia, I can say boldly,” Kobakhidze claimed.

Mikheil Saakashvili released a video on his Facebook this morning saying he is in Batumi, Georgia. “This is my Batumi that I missed so much. Today my dream came true,” Saakashvili said.

Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) did not confirm that Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-President of Georgia and Head of the Executive Committee, National Reforms Council of Ukraine, crossed Georgia’s state border.
