French Embassy: Svetitskhoveli is a symbol of faith, resilience and unity
The French Embassy in Tbilisi has extended its warm wishes to the people of Georgia on Mtskhetoba-Svetitskhovloba, describing Svetitskhoveli Cathedral as a symbol of unity and cultural endurance.
“Today Georgia celebrates one of its oldest and most cherished religious holidays, Mtskhetoba/Svetitskhovloba,” the Embassy stated in an official social media post.
The diplomatic mission noted that beyond its religious significance, the feast day in Georgia’s ancient capital celebrates the nation’s rich history and cultural perseverance.
“Beyond the religious ceremonies, the majestic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, the country’s ancient capital and spiritual centre, stands as a celebration of Georgia itself and its beautiful, resilient history.”
“Svetitskhoveli is not only a UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece, but a symbol of faith, resilience, and unity for an entire nation that has endured through the centuries without losing its culture or identity. Happy Svetitskhovloba,” the statement read.
