Foreign Relations Committee Chair meets Swiss Ambassadors to Georgia and Russia

Chairman of the Georgian parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, met the Swiss Ambassador to Georgia, Heidi Grau, and the Ambassador to Russia, Krystyna Marty Lang.

The situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and Russia’s destructive moves were in focus.

The parties slammed Russia’s decision to deploy a naval base in occupied Abkhazia. They also reviewed the regional security challenges and future cooperation prospects.

Nikoloz Samkharadze spoke about Georgia’s progress in fulfilment of the EC’s 12-point recommendations, expressing hope that Georgia would receive EU candidate status at the end of the year.
