Foreign Relations Committee delegation meets U.S. Senators

Chair of the Georgian Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze and his team met American Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Pete Ricketts within the framework of the official visit to the United States.

At the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing processes in the country, the 2024 pre-election environment, the bill On Transparency of Foreign Influence, and the significance of Georgia’s integration into NATO.

Special attention was paid to the security challenges in the South Caucasus region and the importance of Georgia in promoting regional stability and peace, Russia’s occupation of Georgia’s territories and increased threats.

The meeting also stressed that deepening the Georgia-US strategic partnership is in the interests of both states and requires taking concrete steps.

The Foreign Relations Committee delegation comprises Chair Nikoloz Samkharadze, Deputy Chair Davit Zilpimiani and a member Ramaz Nikolaishvili.
