Foreign Ministry – Contributing to calm work of delimitation commissions is precondition of progress
Resumption of meetings of expert groups and delimitation commissions is important and the Georgian side expresses full readiness for that – Georgian Foreign Ministry said in commenting about the incident of July 14 between locals and Azerbaijani border guards at Davit Gareji, a rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex located in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia.
Foreign Ministry said that similar incidents harm the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan. The Ministry also called on the sides for the abstention of provoking tension. “Contributing to calm work of delimitation commissions in a peaceful environment by civil groups is the precondition for reaching progress,” Foreign Ministry said in the statement.
