“For a long time, the European Parliament and its resolutions, especially those related to Georgia, have been out of touch with reality,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili told the GPB’s First Channel.
According to Botchorishvili, it is not worth taking EU resolutions seriously.
“We have seen many absurd passages, conclusions, and calls from the European Parliament, and if we acted according to their demands, Georgia might not exist today. Therefore, we would not listen to viewpoints, which are voiced by individuals who have no responsibility before our country,” she said.
On March 12, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on Georgia titled “The Case of Elene Khoshtaria and Political Prisoners under the Georgian Dream Regime.” The document reads that the EP condemns “politically motivated” arrests in Georgia, demanding the release of those detained for “politically motivated reasons” or for the peaceful exercise of their fundamental rights.
