FM: Georgia ready to resume talks with U.S. on cooperation in line with interests of both countries

Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili confirms the Georgian government’s readiness to reset relations with the U.S. and restore a strategic partnership.

Maka Botchorishvili said in a live broadcast of Imedi TV that Georgia was open for a dialogue at any level and would “welcome expressing interest” from the U.S.

“The Georgian government has repeatedly stated that we wish to reset relations with the United States and restore our strategic partnership, which was suspended during the Biden administration. We are expecting with patience the proposal from the U.S. on the resumption and reset of relations with Georgia,” she said.

The Minister accentuated recent meetings, including the visit of the U.S. Congress delegation and highlighted the significance of Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia’s visit to Washington.

“Lasha Darsalia’s visit to Washington serves to communicate with as many people as possible about Georgia and, of course, to keep Georgia on the agenda of the United States. We are ready to reset relations and resume talks with the U.S. on cooperation in line with the interests of both countries,” the Foreign Minister stated.
