Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, has reviewed the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Georgia, highlighting its long-term significance and key outcomes.

“The Uzbek President’s visit marks a milestone step in bilateral relations between our two countries. As part of this visit, we have signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, which will significantly enhance and bolster collaboration across a multitude of sectors,” the Foreign Minister noted.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the head of the diplomatic service also emphasised the vital importance of deepening ties with Central Asia, pointing to the immense potential of this vector.

“Deepening and strengthening relations with the nations of Central Asia is a core priority for Georgia, particularly within the framework of regional connectivity. Georgia’s strategic role and potential are of equal interest to them. Crucial steps are being taken today toward the development of these countries. It is vital for us that these ties grow stronger and deeper, ultimately yielding tangible benefits for the wider region. Consequently, a state visit at the presidential level provides, without doubt, the prime opportunity to advance our bilateral relations across all dimensions,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.
