“The government’s task is to ensure that Georgia’s role and place on the international map are properly recognised, valued and put to use,” said Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.

She said the South Caucasus region has great potential, which must be used to the full.

“There are people who take a pragmatic view of the Middle Corridor’s importance and work with Georgia to make use of that potential. Unfortunately, some politicians simply deny this basic fact and the reality around us today. Georgia has an important role in terms of connectivity; you could say a key role in developing the Middle Corridor. We see our region, the South Caucasus, as having very great potential, so relations must be developed in every direction. This is the Georgian Government’s priority and its task: given this practical importance, to ensure that Georgia’s role and place on the international map are properly recognised, valued and put to use,” Botchorishvili said.
