First Vice Speaker: Brussels turned double standards into norm. Their threats lack justice and deep analysis
“Brussels has made double standards the norm, and their threats are not based on justice or deep analysis,” declared Gia Volski, First Vice-Speaker of Georgia’s Parliament.
According to Volski, there is nothing new in such threats, but the fact remains that all of this is unacceptable for the country.
“Kaja Kallas keeps silent about her husband’s projects—what her husband was engaged in during the period when Russia invaded Ukraine. There are no answers to these questions, but for Brussels, double standards have become routine. Making decisions on visa-free travel is quite difficult. They can suspend it, but a critical number of countries with opposing positions must accumulate. However, even those countries that can make such decisions have certain constraints. What we see is a mission to punish all of Georgia to forcibly remove a democratically elected government. In other words, facilitating revolution has quite popular support from entire countries. The mechanism they want to activate is not easy to implement, and if it’s decided to impose sanctions on those who refuse to comply with servile orders, imposing sanctions requires full consensus. Opinions within the European Union are also divided on this issue,” Gia Volski declared.
