External merchandise trade goes up by 32.8%

In 2022, Georgia’s external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) amounted to USD 19 042.9 million, 32.8 per cent higher to 2021, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

The exports amounted to USD 5 592.8 million (31.8% higher), while the imports stood at USD 13 450.1 million (33.2% higher).

The negative trade balance was USD 7 857.2 million in 2022, and its share in external trade turnover made 41.3 per cent.

In 2022, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 78.6 per cent.

The top partners were China (USD 736.8 million), Azerbaijan (USD 672.6 million) and Russia (USD 651.6 million).
