Monthly nominal earnings in Georgia 15.3 % up in Q4, 2023

In the IV quarter of 2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 15.3 percent (270.9 Gel) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to 2 044.5
Gel, Georgia’s National Statistics Office (GeoStat) reported on Monday.

According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Information and communication – 4 309.2 Gel (increased by 17.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)
• Financial and insurance activities – 3 110.0 Gel (increased by 14.1 percent)
• Construction – 3 062.5 Gel (increased by 20.8 percent)
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2 920.5 Gel (increased by 19.0 percent).

In the IV quarter of 2023, the average earnings equaled to 1 607.3 Gel for women, while 2 463.8 Gel for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to 195.6 Gel (13.9%) for women and 340.7 Gel (16.0%) for men. In all sectors of the economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.

In the IV quarter of 2023, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 285.1 Gel (14.9%) and equaled 2 196.2 Gel. According to the economic activity the
highest monthly earnings were observed in Information and communication (4 420.5 Gel, increased by 17.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (3 393.5 Gel, increased by 22.4 percent).
