Export of Georgian wine has increased by 13% and the price of exported wine by 22%

According to the National Wine Agency, in January-September 2018,  up to 60mil. bottles (0,75l)  of wine have been exported to 53 countries worldwide, that is 13% higher than the similar data of 2017. Exported wine income amounted to 142 mil. USD, that is 22% higher than the data of the previous year.

Georgian wine exports have been increased in Georgian wine strategic markets: Japan 68% (172 673), Poland 32% (2465541) , UK –  22% (67310), also on European and American markets:  Romania – 390% (84 654), Czech –  69% (31050), Netherlands –  46% (60309), Germany -22% (349216),  Lietuva – 18% (331620), Estonia –16% (420704), Canada – 13% (119418), France – 11% (107126), Latvia – 9% (1245324)  and etc. Also, on traditional and Asian markets: Turkmenistan – 80% (120294), Kyrgyzstan -54% (179610), Kazakhstan – 30% (2658224), Mongolia – 44% (162390), Ukraine – 27% (6746598), Russia – 11% (37064677) , Belorussia -13% (1188822) and etc.

The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (37064677), Ukraine  (6746598), China  (4821937), Kazakhstan  (2658224) and  Poland (2465541).

In addition, in January-September, 13.5 mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 22 countries worldwide, that is 19% higher than the similar data of the last year. Exported brandy amounted to 27,6 mil. USD, growth amounted to 10%.

In the period under review, 287  thousand bottles (0.5 l) of  “Chacha”  have been exported to 24 countries worldwide, growth amounted to 96%. Totally,  824 thousand USD worth of Chacha has been exported, which is 88% higher than the similar data of the last year.

Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 222,7 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 15%.
