Ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili: I want to tell Georgian Dream—I will destroy you

“I want to tell the “Kotsis”—I want to whisper it so they can read my lips—I will destroy you, you’re finished,’ former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the ruling Georgian Dream party during a court appearance today.

Saakashvili subsequently published footage of his courtroom address on his official Facebook page.

During his speech, the jailed former leader insisted that the regime’s collapse was now inevitable.

“I am not calling on anyone to overthrow the government; they’ve already locked up scores of people on that charge. I am simply telling you as a father figure: no matter how many people you throw in jail for calling for your downfall, it will change nothing. I am telling you this as an inescapable fact. This village-alley dictatorship born in Chorvila will inevitably fall, and it will happen very soon,” Saakashvili said.
