European civilisation was built on Christian morality and human dignity, says Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze
“At a time when the European continent faces profound political, ideological, demographic, and moral challenges, it is crucial to remember that European civilisation grew out of Christian morality, the inviolability of human dignity, and the ideals of liberty,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated on Friday.
Addressing delegates at the international conference Foundations of European Civilisation and 1,700 Years of Christianity in Georgia, the head of government emphasised that these bedrock principles define the identity of European nations and that defending them today is more pertinent than ever.
“Our path towards the shared European family is rooted precisely in those authentic values that created this great civilisation in the first place. Georgia will unswervingly remain on this path: preserving our traditions, our spiritual identity, and our centuries-old heritage.
I thank the organisers of this international conference, the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, and our foreign guests for visiting Tbilisi. I am confident these discussions will make a vital contribution to strengthening our common European future and shared spiritual values,” Kobakhidze declared.
“Once again, I congratulate you on this historic milestone, the 1,700th anniversary of Christianity in Georgia, and wish you every success in your fruitful deliberations,” he concluded.
