EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said today he welcomed the delegation from the European Parliament, which will observe the October 30 runoff municipal elections in Georgia.
According to the Ambassador, the delegation members have already begun meetings.
“Two days before the elections, I will not make any assessments on where things stand right now. But I can tell you that, this morning, I was very happy to welcome a new delegation from the European Parliament on the Determanship of the Latvian member of the European parliament Ms Vaidyar. They have started meetings here, today and tomorrow, and they will be doing the monitoring during the elections, after which they will contribute to the common assessment together with the ODIHR on Sunday,” Carl Hartzell said.
The runoffs of local elections will be held in 20 municipalities of Georgia on October 30.
