Emmanuel Macron concerned over 'harsh repressions against young people, betrayal of Georgia's EU path'

“Georgia has clearly suffered very clear attacks, and manipulations, and I want to reiterate here our full support for the defenders of democracy and the European path in Georgia,” said French President Emmanuel Macron at a joint press conference with Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Macron expressed “great concern over very harsh repressions against young people, the worrying statements by the head of government and the betrayal, in essence, of the European path, immediately after the elections and, fundamentally, completely contrary to what was said to voters throughout the campaign.”
