Emergency Management Service urges public to avoid lighting fires on agricultural lands, near forests, not leave fire pits unattended
Georgia’s Emergency Management Service warned the public on Tuesday that air temperatures are forecast to climb across the nation in the coming days, increasing the danger of forest and field fires.
The Service called on the public to “show high responsibility,” and avoid lighting fires on agricultural lands and near forests or fields, and not leave fire pits unattended.
The agency has also warned against keeping household rubbish in open areas, citing the possibility of spontaneous combustion and urging people to phone the 112 emergency number immediately if they notice smoke or flames.
