The Georgian Orthodox Church is celebrating the glorious feast of Easter.
The Easter Liturgy is being held in Tbilisi at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral, where the gathered faithful were presented with the Easter Epistle of the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, His Holiness Shio (Mujiri).
Parishioners assembled in the cathedral, and Metropolitan Shio congratulated them on the feast of Easter.
The Holy Fire, brought from Jerusalem by a charter flight, was delivered to the Sioni Cathedral.
The Easter service at the Patriarchal Cathedral is attended by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive authorities.
