PM Kobakhidze: World’s least popular PM, who quit in tears yesterday, sanctioned Georgia’s top-rated company —that is karma

“The highest-rated company in Georgia was sanctioned by the world’s lowest-rated prime minister, who resigned from office in tears yesterday. This is karma catching up with Mr Starmer,” the Prime Minister told journalists.

He further assured that neither TV Imedi nor POSTV would face any operational difficulties, and that media freedom in Georgia would remain fully protected.

“What happened is an absolute disgrace; it is Britain’s shame. Britain is traditionally regarded as the birthplace of human rights. Yet it has decided to shut down a television station in Georgia and launch an assault on our country’s free media. This is a disgrace for England, a disgrace for Britain, and a personal disgrace for Starmer, who was the most unpopular prime minister in the world. The rest is of no consequence.

We guarantee that neither TV Imedi nor POSTV will encounter any issues whatsoever regarding their operations, and media freedom in Georgia will be fully protected. No matter what kind of onslaught we witness from the British government against media freedom in Georgia, this is our guarantee. Roughly a year ago, I promised you that media freedom and the press in Georgia would face no obstacles, and I fulfilled that promise. Today, I give you that same pledge: neither TV Imedi nor POSTV will suffer any detriment, and both broadcasters will continue to operate seamlessly and without disruption,” the Prime Minister noted.
