Early warning alert triggered at Devdoraki; Dariali border crossing evacuated, traffic restricted near Gveleti

An alert has been received from the early warning system installed in Devdoraki, which registers any changes in the riverbed even in the event of a minimal rise in water flow, according to an official statement released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

“In accordance with established protocols and based on the incoming alert, individuals at the Dariali border checkpoint, including members of the public, as well as personnel from the Patrol Police, Customs Service, Border Police, and private entities working at the crossing, have been safely evacuated.

Simultaneously, as a precautionary measure, traffic for all types of vehicles has been restricted in both directions near the village of Gveleti,” the Ministry stated.
