Deputy Mayor meets fire-affected Tbilisi traders

A follow-up meeting has been held at Tbilisi City Hall with traders affected by the fire that broke out at the market near Station Square.

Deputy Mayor Irakli Khmaladze received specific information from the traders’ initiative group regarding the number of people affected, the extent of damaged retail and storage areas, estimated value of destroyed goods, and other technical details.

According to the City Hall’s press office, “All possible mechanisms and principles for providing assistance to those affected were discussed. The Deputy Mayor promised to help with the dismantling of burnt market constructions and territory clean-up operations.”

Another working meeting has been scheduled to take place within the next few days.
