Deputy Justice Minister: World key figures in public service administration to gather in Tbilisi for UN Public Service Forum on June 23-25
The UN Public Service Forum will provide Georgia with a unique opportunity to share its experience with public administration decision-makers from around the world, First Deputy Minister of Justice Beka Dzamashvili said.
“Field experts, political decision-makers, ministers, mayors, and officials responsible for public administration and service development will participate in the forum in Tbilisi over the course of three days. We will have the opportunity to exchange our experience in the provision of public services,” Dzamashvili said in an interview with Rustavi 2.
The First Deputy Minister noted that hosting the UN Public Service Forum in Georgia is a recognition of the reforms and achievements the country has implemented in the field of public administration.
“Efficient, simplified and accelerated services that we offer to all citizens have become a kind of hallmark of our country. One of the main reasons Tbilisi was selected to host this world-class forum is the reforms we have carried out, which is a great honor for us,” Dzamashvili said.
According to him, in addition to promoting the development of public services, the forum is also important in terms of Georgia’s policy of non-recognition of the occupied territories.
“Our goal is to introduce our guests to Georgia’s culture and traditions. This is also very important in the context of the non-recognition policy regarding the occupied territories, as we will have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with high-level representatives from more than 100 countries. In this respect as well, hosting this event in Georgia will be highly valuable,” he added.
The UN Public Service Forum is being held in Georgia for the first time and is organized by the Ministry of Justice. The event, titled “Transforming Public Institutions: Driving Innovation, Accountability, Inclusion and Effectiveness,” will be opened by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Justice Minister Paata Salia, and the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua.
