Deputy Infrastructure Minister: Renovated Regions Program to ensure additional revenues for locals

Special commissions set up within the PM-initiated Renovated Regions Program held meetings in Kutaisi, Ambrolauri and Zugdidi.

Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Irakli Krseladze and representatives of the local authorities participated in the meetings.

The program will include reconstruction of the Dadiani Palace and Khobi Water Park in Zugdidi, rehabilitation of the central street in Poti and arrangement of recreational space in Mestia.

“The scale of the program will significantly influence the economy and provide new opportunities and additional revenues for locals,” Karseladze claimed.

The programs for urban renovation in Zugdidi and Poti were approved during the sitting. Similar meetings are planned in the Guria and Adjara regions of Georgia.

The Municipal Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure announced GEL 160 million-worth tenders on April 28. Construction companies to carry out rehabilitation works will be revealed through tenders.

The 4-year program will comprise 63 municipalities. The projects will be financed by the state and with the support of international financial institutions.
