Deputy Economy Minister outlines success of new micro-entrepreneur program
Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili, has expressed optimism about the outcomes of the Produce in Georgia program, which was introduced in September 2024 to support micro and small businesses.
According to Nadareishvili, the program has resonated with entrepreneurs, with a significant volume of already approved loans amounting to GEL 13 million. The majority of these loans have been allocated to the development of key sectors, including tourism, restaurants, and services.
Nadareishvili emphasized that the support and development of small and medium-sized businesses constitute one of the top priorities of the government’s economic policy.
“Today, we can proudly acknowledge the impressive results achieved by the small and medium business sector in Georgia,” he noted. “These include a tripled output, a 70% increase in productivity, and numerous other positive developments that we are witnessing in this sector.”
The Deputy Minister highlighted other state programs that facilitate access to finances for beneficiaries, noting that the Produce in Georgia program consulting centres are operating in various regions of Georgia.
