Deputy Defence Minister, Head of General Staff commemorate Archil Tatunashvili
Archil Tatunashvili, the late Georgian soldier who was brutally murdered by the occupying forces, would have turned 42 today.
Deputy Georgian Defence Minister Grigol Giorgadze, Chief of the General Staff Major-General Joni Tatunashvili and other military personnel visited the Mukhatghedi Brothers’ Cemetery and paid tribute to Archil Tatunashvili’s memory.
They also visited the memorial named after Archil Tatunashvili in the Tsilkani IDP settlement and laid a wreath. Archil Tatunashvili was illegally arrested by representatives of the occupation regime in Akhalgori on February 22, 2018. His death was reported on February 23, and his body was later transferred to the territory controlled by the Georgian side and buried with military honours at the Mukhatghedi Brothers Cemetery.
Archil Tatunashvili served in the Defence Forces from 2007 to 2011.
