David Zalkaliani: We should handle Davit Gareji issue with extreme caution, due to its sensitivity
I am convinced that we, both the Georgian and the Azerbaijani sides, will be able to resolve the issue related to Davit Gareji in a way to be acceptable for both sides, – Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani made this statement after the cabinet meeting today.
As David Zalkaliani noted, the Davit Gareji issue was discussed at the meeting held between the Prime Minister of Georgia and the President of Azerbaijan.
According to him, the first sitting of Georgia-Azerbaijani state border delimitation Commission was held in Baku and there is a willingness to continue it in Tbilisi.
“I would like to argue the public that each word, expression, or action has particular importance due to the sensitivity of the issue. We should handle this topic with extreme caution, since we are dealing with very important state interest, and on the other hand, our strategic partner. I am convinced that we, both the Georgian and the Azerbaijani sides, will be able to resolve the issue related to David Gareji in a way to be acceptable for both sides”, – Davit Zalkaliani said.
