Customs operations on special working mode amid upped cargo flow in region, Revenue Service says

Amid soaring cargo flow in the South Caucasus region, the Georgian Revenue Service, on Monday, said, all customs checkpoints have switched to “a special working mode.” The number of customs officers has also upped to ensure a “smooth operation”.

The customs control procedures for trucks leaving Georgia via the Larsi checkpoint to Russia were “party delayed” in the Russian-operated area, the agency went on.

To ensure uninterrupted international cargo turnover, and “swiftly find” alternative checkpoints, the service added that it was in “intensive communication” with relevant customs administrations of the neighbouring countries, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
