Georgian PM meets with Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has met with the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong.

According to the press service of the Government of Georgia, the meeting highlighted the long-standing, fruitful relations between the two nations, which are built on mutual respect and cooperation in areas of shared interest.

“The two sides discussed the importance of further stepping up political dialogue between the two countries, as well as advancing productive cooperation across both bilateral and multilateral formats,” the Georgian Government Administration stated.

“During the meeting, the leaders also explored potential avenues for deepening trade, economic, and investment ties. In this context, particular emphasis was placed on the economic and structural reforms implemented in Georgia, the positive momentum of the country’s economic growth, and its favourable business environment.

Furthermore, the leaders underlined Georgia’s pivotal role in connecting Europe and Asia, whilst also reviewing prospects for enhanced cooperation within the transport and tourism sectors,” the statement reads.

Irakli Kobakhidze extended an official invitation to the Prime Minister of Singapore to visit Georgia.

As part of the visit, the Georgian Head of Government also signed the official guest book at the Istana presidential residence.
