Culture Minister meets Writers’ House directors and literary museum heads to chart development strategy

Minister of Culture Maia Bitadze, joined by First Deputy Minister Mikheil Kiknadze and Deputy Minister Natia Shamatava, convened a working meeting with leadership from the Writers’ House and directors of literary museums operating under its network.

During the session, Bitadze emphasized the critical need for a unified strategy to ensure the effective management and development of museum-residences and memorial homes dedicated to prominent Georgian writers and public figures across the country.

Participants held detailed discussions on operational needs and pressing challenges facing the institutions. The agenda covered infrastructural upgrades, administrative resource optimisation, and targeted strategies to increase visitor turnout.

The meeting at the Ministry of Culture brought together directors from key regional and national sites, including the Ilia Chavchavadze Kvareli State Museum, the Akaki Tsereteli State Museum, the Ivane Machabeli Museum, the Galaktion and Titsian Tabidze House-Museum, the Vazha-Pshavela House-Museum, and the Iakob Gogebashvili House-Museum.

Rusudan Chumburidze, Head of the Ministry’s Arts Development and Support Department, and Salome Jamburia, Head of the Cultural Heritage Department, also attended the meeting.
