ComCom expands global footprint with new strategic partnerships
The Chairman of the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom), Goga Gulordava, held a series of high-level bilateral meetings and signed key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during his working visit to the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum and the AI for Good Global Summit.
On behalf of the Communications Commission, Goga Gulordava concluded bilateral agreements and signed MoUs with the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Jordan (TRC) and the Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RAK).
The Chairman of the Communications Commission signed the memoranda alongside Lara El Khatib, Chair of the TRC, and Drasko Milinovic, Director-General of RAK. Under these agreements, the parties agreed to share knowledge and lead joint initiatives in the telecommunications sector.
During his visit to Geneva, the Chairman also held a bilateral introductory meeting with Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC), concluding with plans to forge closer institutional ties. Furthermore, Goga Gulordava met with Milan B. Radulovic, President of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services of Montenegro (EKIP). Their discussions focused on bilateral cooperation and future strategic steps, during which the Chairman presented the Commission’s current flagship projects.
The Communications Commission delegation was participating in the WSIS 2026 Forum and the AI for Good Global Summit, co-organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), UN agencies (UNESCO, UNCTAD, UNDP), and the Swiss Confederation. The WSIS Forum is a leading innovation hub where global delegates assess progress in implementing commitments under the WSIS+20 resolution. Key themes reviewed included universal connectivity, artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, online risks, disinformation, leveraging digital technologies for sustainable development, and a human-centric digital future.
This year’s WSIS Forum was held in tandem with the ITU’s 2026 AI for Good International Summit and the UN General Assembly’s global dialogue on AI governance. The forum featured high-level ministerial sessions, thematic exhibitions, and bilateral working assemblies.
