Chair of EU Committee of Swedish parliament: We stand with Georgian people
“One year ago, on the 26th of October, Georgian democracy and Georgia’s path to Europe were stolen from the people,” said Erik Ottoson, a member of the Swedish parliament and chair of the committee on the European Union, in his video address.
“We want to reaffirm our continuous support for the Georgian people’s aspiration for democracy, freedom, and a future in Europe. We see daily protests on Rustaveli Avenue as being the hope and we stand with you,” he said.
“We stand with Georgia!” – with this slogan, the video address is joined by Chairs of European Affairs Committees from the parliaments of Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia as well as Foreign Committee Chairs from the parliaments of Luxembourg, Finland, Austria and Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard.
