CEC, Health Ministry to coordinate all election-related activities

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Giorgi Kalandarishvili said the election administration coordinates all the election-related activities with the Health Ministry to prevent Covid-19 virus spread.

According to Kalandarishvili, the commission members regularly undergo Covid-19 testing and welcomed the PM’s initiative for the administration staff to join the immunization process. The election administration strictly follows Covid-related regulations and sanitary-hygienic norms, he said.

“Our preparations fully serve prevention of the coronavirus. All voters should arrive at the polls with the feeling that they will be able to vote in a safe environment,” he said.

The CEC Chair also commented about the possibility to postpone the upcoming local elections. He said the CEC is not qualified to decide this issue.
