“We will do our best to find a way to resume dialogue between the government and the opposition,” Carl Hartzell, an ambassador of the European Union to Georgia told reporters.

Hartzell spoke about the arrest of one of the leaders of European Georgia Gigi Ugulava.

“With the EU ambassadors, we discussed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the recent sentencing of opposition leader Gigi Ugulava. These circumstances do not facilitate the continuation of the dialogue.

We have heard many European politicians statements regarding the arrest. I expect there will be an official statement from Brussels in a few hours.

A little time left for dialogue. We will do our best to renew the dialogue,” Hartzell stressed.
