Borjomi Mineral Water and Bottling Company administration, employees, reach agreement
The 9-day-long protest ended in Borjomi resort of Georgia. The administration and striking employees of the Borjomi Mineral Water and Bottling Company reached an agreement. The company satisfied the demand of the striking workers to increase their wages and pay for overtime work.
The newly-appointed company director and representatives of the Trade Unions also participated in the negotiations. “The new manager was constructive. Work will continue in resolution of specific problems,” said Giorgi Diasamidze, a representative of Agrarian, Trade and Industry Trade Unions.
The company workers kicked off the strike on May 18. They demanded a pay rise, rights to holidays and breaks.
