I think that Giorgi Gakharia deserved presentation on the post of Prime Minister with his activities – Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Party said after the sitting of the political council and parliamentary majority held at the party’s central office.

“At the sitting of Political Council, as being the Party Chairman, I presented the new candidate of Giorgi Gakharia and received full support. Then we held a meeting with the majority and no questions were asked about this issue either. This is the objective evaluation of our choice. Both journalists and society know Gakharia well. I believe that with his work record, starting with Business Ombudsman to Minister of Internal Affairs, he deserved to be named as the candidate for the post. I think that the parliament will approve him on the position. I want to wish Gakharia success in his future activities,” Ivanishvili said.

Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Party named Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs as the candidate for post of Prime Minister.

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze quit the post on September 2. Bakhtadze said that he had completed his mission at this stage.
