The regatta Batumi Open Championship in Sailing 2025 is currently taking place in Batumi. The championship will continue until 8 June.

Over three days, representatives from sailing clubs operating in Georgia will compete against each other. The regatta features athletes from Tbilisi Sailing Club, Georgia Sailing Club, and sailing clubs from Poti and Batumi, competing in Laser and Optimist classes.

“Sailing was a very developed sport in Georgia, and this was particularly felt in Batumi. There were some setbacks, but in recent years, through the efforts of a new team, we have been organising competitions on a national scale. This is the first championship between all of Georgia’s clubs in recent years. Batumi has enormous potential in every respect,” said Jumber Tsomaia, one of the event organisers and a veteran sailor.

The event is organised by the Georgian Sailing Federation. According to the federation, the tournament will become a tradition.
