Badri Japaridze, General Secretary of “Lelo for Georgia” political movement responded to the information released by General Prosecutor’s Office on August 21.

Japaridze accuses Prosecutor’s Office of incompetence and urges Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia for telling the truth. According to Japaridze, Gakharia has no courage to tell about his role regarding the letter. “I say will full responsibility that we received the letter through Gakharia,” Japaridze claimed.

Based on the expertise conclusion, finger imprints discovered on a letter addressed to Mamuka Khazaradze, businessman, founder of TBC Bank and current oppositional politician representing “Lelo for Georgia” movement, do not belong to Giorgi Gakharia, Georgian Prime Minister.

The General Prosecutor’s Office, which leads an investigation into possible menacing of Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, General Secretary of “Lelo for Georgia,” co-founder of TBC Bank, received the conclusion.

Khazaradze said during his speech delivered at the parliamentary Finance-Budgetary Committee on March 4 of 2019 that he had received a menacing letter from Gakharia, who then served as Minister of Internal Affairs, ahead of the second round of 2018 presidential elections.

Khazaradze presented a copy of the letter in the parliament. He claimed that the original of the letter had been sent to the UK. The letter was submitted to General Prosecutor’s Office on October 21 of 2019 with the materials of the British private company, and was later examined at Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau.
