Average monthly salary in Georgia reaches 2,389 GEL after 8% increase in Q2 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, the average monthly nominal salary in Georgia increased by 8.0 per cent, or 177.3 GEL, compared to the same period last year, reaching 2,389.3 GEL according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).

By sector, relatively high average salaries were recorded in the following areas: Information and Communication at 4,400.4 GEL (up 5.4 per cent year-on-year); Financial and Insurance Activities at 4,074.1 GEL (up 9.2 per cent); Construction at 3,496.6 GEL (up 0.8 per cent); and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Activities at 3,304.8 GEL (up 10.3 per cent).

According to GeoStat, the average monthly earnings for women in the second quarter of 2026 stood at 1,927.0 GEL, while men earned an average of 2,856.4 GEL. Annual wage growth reached 157.5 GEL (8.9 per cent) for women and 200.5 GEL (7.6 per cent) for men. Across all sector categories, men’s salaries exceeded those of women.

Furthermore, the report shows that the average monthly salary for business sector employees rose by 153.8 GEL (6.6 per cent) to 2,471.5 GEL. By industry sector, the highest wages were observed in Information and Communication (4,463.9 GEL) and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Activities (3,693.0 GEL).

During the reporting period, the average monthly salary in the non-business and financial sectors increased by 215.0 GEL (10.6 per cent) year-on-year, totalling 2,239.0 GEL. By sector, employees in Financial and Insurance Activities commanded the highest salaries. Regionally, Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti led in terms of average wage levels.
