“We welcome Mike Pompeo’s statement regarding international observers. We fancy more international observers to see that we are holding unprecedented elections in Georgia,” said the Chairman of Georgian Parliament Archil Talakvadze.
“It is already known that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will send large mission to Georgia. On top of that, MEPs will take part in it.
I have personally appealed to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Union to send additional observers.
All this proves that it is our political will to show our citizens and partners that we are holding unprecedented elections, essentially with proportional system,” stated Talakvadze.
Mike Pompeo, United States Secretary of State said on Wednesday that the US State Department of State will send volunteers to observe 2020 Georgian parliamentary elections.
