Archil Talakvadze: We express confidence to Mamuka Bakhtadze and grant him status and legitimacy of PM

We express confidence to Mamuka Bakhtadze and grant him the status and legitimacy of the Prime Minister – the leader of the parliamentary majority Archil Talakvadze made the regarding statement at a special briefing today.

Acceding to him, parliament will discuss the issue of announcing confidence to the current composition of the government in the expedited timeframe.

As the leader of the parliamentary majority clarifies, that doing it will allow Mamuka Bakhtadze to work on the structural changes planned within the government.

“The legal process that we have to go through this week does not and cannot have any other interpretations.  Only main goal is to express our confidence toward a new Prime Minister and give him the opportunity to present the renewed structure and composition of the government”, – Archil Talakvadze said.

Irakli kobakhidze, Speaker of the parliament stated today that on June 20, an extraordinary meeting will be held, where Parliament will discuss the issue of expressing the confidence.

Composition of Cabinet of Ministers has been officially presented to the Parliament today.

As Prime Minister’s candidate Mamuka Bakhtadze stated the composition of the government will be reshuffled after structural changes. Changes will refer to six ministries.  According to him, within the framework of structural reform, the number of ministries will be reduced from 14 to 11.

Georgian parliamentary majority nominated Mamuka Bakhtadze as the candidate for the Prime Minister of Georgia. Bakhtadze said that he will appear before the parliament with his vision based on four principles.
